Evacuees
Found out a short time ago that SC is expecting 100 evacuees to arrive in Columbia tomorrow sometime. No medical patients are expected to arrive. So looks doubtful that HIM will be asked to assist.

Update
SC received about 500 evacuees total. Very few medical patients. Hardister is back home from New Orleans. Was sent home due to injury received in altercation with an alligator. Nothing serious I'm told but was concern about infection. For the gator that is. Was out at HIM today and talk is they will be providing shelter for some evacuees. Hoping to get going full tilt on getting the complex restored. From what I'm told the goal is to get 500 rooms open as soon as possible. I think things are getting ready to go into overdrive!

Former PTL site new home to Katrina evacuees
08:56 PM EDT on Monday, October 24, 2005 By TIFFANI HELBERG / 6NEWS 6NEWS The refurbished grounds of the former PTL site will be a welcomed home to some Hurricane Katrina evacuees. FORT MILL -- It is known world-wide as the former base of the Praise the Lord Ministries. Jim Baker’s brainchild shut down in the late 80's because of a criminal conviction. But a new ministry took over the old site, tore down the cobwebs and refurbished it and that’s good news for some Hurricane Katrina evacuees. Soon, the site once owned by PTL and now made over by MorningStar Ministries will be home to Gulf Coast evacuees. It’s 500 room hotel complete with restaurants, a church and a school. It’s a site some might consider made in heaven for displaced Katrina victims. “We have one of the best facilities in the world for that,” said MorningStar director Rick Joyner. Joyner’s group now owns the old PTL site. They're using it for religious conferences, but after Katrina hit, its purpose expanded. “In some situations I wouldn't mind filling the place up with people,” Joyner said. “I'd like to be able to take a hundred families at any given time. I think disaster relief is something we have to be engaged in. MorningStar's goodwill goes beyond Fort Mill. They gave 6NEWS video of their crews working to help in the Gulf. From cleaning, to rebuilding to providing food their efforts are massive. “These are people in the most devastated vulnerable part of their life and if we're going to be good for anything this is when we need to help them,” said Joyner. A few evacuee families have already spent time here Fort Mill. But Joyner says it’s going to be at least a few months before they can open their doors to more. “A lot of the rooms still need refurbishing,” said Joyner. It’s a renovation that could change the lives of dozens of families. The school on site actually has high school aged children working for a week at a time right now in the Gulf Coast. That’s because MorningStar Ministries believes that communication is an essential part of a teen's education. |

Very Interesting and sentimental
Greetings...
I just came across this board and I have to make this short. I am an electrician and I would re-locate to HERITAGE USA in a heartbeat if I knew I could help in the restoration of Heritage USA. If its way too late I apologize for the post. I only read a few posts and replies so I don't know the latest scoop on the property. I will check back. Musicguy---I'd like to help. I have to run and I will research this further.... Can't wait to help in any way I can. Freestone |

Hi There!
I definitely think that it is not too late if you want to do electrical work at the old Heritage USA property. I know that both MorningStar Ministries new Heritage International Ministries (which occupies the former Heritage Grand Hotel) and Flames-of-Fire Ministries (which occupies the former Barn Auditorium and PTL Television Network studios are both still renovating their properties. The Heritage Grand Hotel still has quite a bit of renovations that it will need - many hotel rooms to still be refurbished as well as the Main Street Shoppes area, and the ministry has plans to finish the Heritage Grand Tower high-rise hotel which has sat vacant for years. Flames-of-Fire has been totally renovating the old Barn Auditorium after having finished renovations on the TV Studios and I know that they have plans to renovate the old bunkhouses and campground facilities. I'm sure that both ministries could DEFINITELY use your services. You may want to check out their websites for contact information: Heritage International Ministries (MorningStar Fellowship Church): http://him.morningstarministries.org/ Flames-Of-Fire Ministry: http://www.flames-of-fire.com/ |

Keep Updated on the Renovations at the former Heritage USA Complex
There are many exciting changes currently going on at the former Heritage USA complex (now known as Regent Park) in Fort Mill, SC outside of Charlotte. The old PTL Studios have been completely renovated and the Barn Auditorium, Total Learning Center, Campgrounds and Bunkhouses are also being renovated by Flames of Fire Ministry.
The Heritage Grand Hotel is currently undergoing renovations as well as the adjacent Main Street USA shopping complex. The Heritage Grand Tower will be completed and the Partner Center will be totally refurbished by MorningStar Ministries. To keep up to date on what's going on, please join our Yahoo! discussion group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HeritageUSA Thanks! |

Does anyone know how far along they are on the new road which will connect Regent Park to Pineville?
Is this the same road known as Star Light Drive that they've cut through Recreation Village? Thanks, Todd Group Moderator Yahoo! Heritage USA Group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HeritageUSA |

I just found this site and there is a lot of interesting info here!
I am currently building a home in the area - right next to the lake, as a matter of fact. Some info that I have been told by several of the developers is that the 21 story hotel is to be razed in the near future and that there are plans to put in a boardwalk with shops and restaurants around the lake. Has anyone here heard similarly?? |

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't checked in for a while. In case you haven't heard, Tim S. has closed his group over on Yahoo. That being PTLHERITAGEUSA@yahoogroups.com. It was pretty much down to him and myself posting messages over there. We both came to the conclusion that his site had pretty much served its purpose and the decision was made to shut it down.
Todd Barwick, who posts messages from time to time on this site, has a group on Yahoo simply called HeritageUSA. You can request to join the group simply by visiting the group page at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HeritageUSA - of course you must be a Yahoo member in order to join the group. Membership on Yahoo is free of charge. It seems that things are quickly changing and developing at the former Heritage USA site. Morningstar Ministries has been ongoing with their ministry there and their renovation efforts of a number of the buildings on the property. Mainly including the former Heritage Grand Hotel.
