I have a copy of the PTL Parallel Bible; but it was from a 1983 printing, in which pages inside the front cover are dedicated to President Reagan for proclaiming 1983 as "The Year of the Bible," and also a foreward by Jim Bakker. This is a King James-Living Bible parallel Bible.
You might try going on e-Bay; there are many different people who are offering PTL memorabilia on there - and perhaps a 1970s PTL Parallel Bible might be there. God bless, Rick |

I have read a lot about the Fall of Jim Bakker. Billy Graham has said that Jim Bakker has repented and is back into the fold. Too many people have NOT learned how to forgive and forget. Jim Bakker has an excellent show. His new wife is so wonderful and they look good together. They make a good team! I hope that a lot of people will forget the past and move on, by giving to the new ministry a lot of well deserved cash that the ministry needs to continue to spread the gospel. I am happy for Jim Bakker and wish him the best.

Does anyone think that Tammy Faye Messner will ever again appear on TV with her own program?
She is so talented - it's a shame that she isn't on TV with her own program. Todd Heritage USA Yahoo! Group Owner http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HeritageUSA |

Thank You Jim, Tammy, PTL Employees and Partners
From: Rick Olson <rick4404@yahoo.com>
Date: Mon Dec 26, 2005 10:23 am Subject: Fwd: [HeritageUSA] Thank You Jim, Tammy, PTL Employees & Partners! rick4404 Send IM Send Email Dear PTLHERITAGEUSA Group members: I saw this note from a sister group here on Yahoo and I had to pass it along. Todd really hit the nail on the head here. As Todd so eloquently states below, "so much has been written about what went wrong or what was done wrong at Heritage USA and PTL; but so little has been written about the wonderful things which took place at this ministry." I can only echo his sentiments. There is no question that there were a lot of mistakes made at Heritage USA and PTL. However, when one looks at the total picture; I think everyone will agree that God did some tremendous things when that ministry was in operation. People instantaneously healed of incurable diseases, marriages and families restored...I could go on and on and on. To the former Heritage USA/PTL employees who have stayed with our group, I want to extend to you a personal thank you as well. Thank you for everything you did to make Heritage USA and PTL such a special place. Great will be the reward that is waiting for you in Heaven, I believe. To the many thousands of PTL Partners (I was one of them) who gave so willingly and sacrificially to this outstanding ministry, I say thank you. Thank you for listening to the Lord's direction and prompting you to contribute. The words of the popular Christian song "Thank you for Giving to the Lord" would certainly apply here. My prayer for 2006 would be the same as Todd's. May this property under the capable direction of Rick Joyner and Heritage International Ministries; along with Sabrina Coulston and her ministry, continue to be redeemed, restored and used to help fulfill the Great Commission. This is and continues to be God's property. I believe God allowed the property to go through all the years of neglect and ruin that it did for a reason. I believe one of the reasons was to show not only the Church as a whole, but also the world in general, what the consequences of sin can be. Both of the ministries have taken the mantle of leadership and each have been entrusted with the proper care and keeping of this sacred property. I believe they will prove more than worthy of the tasks that are ahead of them. I pray God's special blessings to you and yours in 2006 and always! On this Christmas Eve, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jim Bakker and Tammy Faye Messner for having the vision to create such a wonderful place as Heritage USA. So much has been written about what went wrong or what was done wrong at PTL and Heritage USA but so little has been written about the many WONDERFUL things that took place at this ministry. To the former PTL Employees, the former PTL partners and everyone associated with Heritage USA and PTL I say "THANK YOU" for everything you did to make this such a beautiful and special place. My prayer for 2006 is that this property may continue to be redeemed, restored and used to lift up the Body of Christ and spread forth the Word of the Gospel. God bless each and every one of you and best wishes for a Merry and Blessed Christmas. In His Name, Todd Heritage USA Group Owner/Moderator HeritageUSA@yahoogroups.com |

Heritage School of Evangelism and Communication (PTL Club School) transcripts
Hello--I wondered if there is anyone out there who can help me obtain an "official" transcript from Heritage School of Evangelism and Communication, class of 1981.

You could do some inquiring with the state education agencies in the South Carolina capital city of Columbia. I'm not sure which state department would have had jurisdiction over the HSEC when it was in operation. Wish I had better news for you. Good luck in your quest. Kinda like me putting down Heritage USA as a reference on my resume'. First, isn't does not exist and secondly, not sure it would be a positive for most folks...lol.
Good luck. SM |

Heritage USA - Heritage School of Evangelism
Hey Brad-
You could always list "Heritage Village Church & Missionary Fellowship Inc." on your resume instead. No one would have a clue what that was! Just a suggestion! Todd |

horrible videos
I was recently told that Jim Bakker announced that some homeless people took digital photos of themselves having sex with animals and stored them on abandoned PTL computers on the old Heritage USA grounds. Have you heard anything about this? It really shocked me to my core.

I have not heard this but it sounds funny to me that ""homeless" people would have "digital cameras" that and the fact that if there were any "abandoned computers" they would have been too old to be able to load up a picture. Unless this happened recently I have a hard time putting it all together.
Either the story is missing something or it did not happen. Just my 02 cents. SM |

Homeless People
I agree with Brad - I don't think this really happened. Firstly, I doubt that there were any "abandoned" computers left at PTL. If there were, they would have been ancient relics. If they even worked, there would have been no place to "power them up" at Heritage as any building that they would have been left in (other than the Grand Hotel) probably wouldn't have had electricity. I doubt that computers of this vintage (circa 1980's) would have allowed photo uploads.
I think it's 99.9% safe to assert that these events did not happen. |
