As far as Jim and old wounds, that was what his Jail sentence was all about. He is now a free man, one who has appoligized publically many times. If they do have some "old wounds" that would be them setting an example of not forgiving. I think and hope that most everyone has moved on. There are still a few that want to dig up all the bad stuff, that just can let it all go.
As for the Satlight. It was purchased by TED Turner and is still in use by his cable company today.
Jim and Lori live here in Florida, they have a wonderful ministry in the pan handle. They have just recently left for Branson Masouri, and will be returning to Florida in a few months. They have gone to Branson to help another ministry to get started.
Roe and Tammy live in a small town just south East of Charlotte called Matthews. Very nice home there, Tammy Sue and her two boys live very close, and Tammy baby sits pretty often and is doing a wonderful job of spoiling them rotten. Jay lives just north of Charlotte, and travels back and forth from Charlotte to Atlanta working on two ministrys known as the Revaloution. It's intent is to reach out to street kids who would not normally feel they would fit into mainstream. Roe, poor, Roe, is just trying to Keep up with Tammy...Ha. He's a good soul. He helps with the mail and travels everywhere with her.

Now that you mention it, I did hear something about Ted Turner buying the PTL Satellite Network/The Inspirational Network. Certainly didn't mean to inadvertently give the Cerullo organization credit where it isn't due. Again, my prayers and best wishes are with you folks in your attempts to purchase the former Heritage USA property.

I couldn't have said it better about Jim. He has paid his debt to society and is now a free man. He's apologized and asked for forgiveness many, many times publicly and undoubtedly privately as well.

I also appreciated reading about what Jamie Charles (Jay) and Tammy Sue are up to these days; as well as what Roe and Tammy are doing. I'm glad all those dear people have been able to put the past behind them and move on with their lives. I heard that Jim had remarried as well and am glad to see that he and Lori are ministering there in Florida. I am so glad to hear that he and Lori are doing well.

Has anyone heard anything what Richard and Mildred Dortch are doing these days? Richard Dortch spoke at a men's retreat I attended several years ago. I got to shake his hand and give him a big hug. When he was here for his speaking and ministry engagement; he had founded a ministry in the Tampa-St. Petersburg area called Life Challenge. Is he still active in that endeavor?

I only know one side of that, and I refuse to judge acording to it, because there's two sides to every story. The people that I am in contact with, are doing well though and have moved on with their lives. Yes I did get the information you sent. Jim and Tammy both seem to be doing well for themselves and getting on with life. It is good that they and the people around them do not live in the past. I personally agree with you that they have asked for forgiveness and people shouldn't hold the past against them. Unfortunately there are still a lot of very angry people out there.

It is interesting to me that no matter what business has tried to make it at Heritage USA none of the secular ones have succeeded. It truly is Gods property.

When we were at the Narrow Way production this past weekend and you looked at the clouds around the grounds every cloud looked like someone praying or an angel. A number of the people in the audience even remarked about it. As soon as you left the grounds they were back to normal. God is still in that place and payerfully someday it will be restored.

Yes it is God's country and that's all it will ever be. Like you said it's pretty clear that nothing has survived there. I visted the place a little over a year ago. You could feel God in the air. It was so sad to see the way things are there. I certainly hope to see it restored. Talk to you soon.

I totally agree that the property which was once Heritage USA is indeed God's property. From what I have been able to ascertain, both on this thread and in my own research, none of the secular business ventures that have been attempted since the closure of Heritage USA have succeeded. I was inspired to read about the Narrow Way production and how the clouds appeared to be like angels praying.

I understand from a previous post on this topic that there has been some pretty extensive infrastructure damage on the property. The house which was Kevin's House burned. There is severe damage to what was to be the Heritage Grand Towers. Part of the roof of the television studio was blown off from the remnants of a hurricane. I understand there's been several deliberately started fires as well.

While I am not here to cast judgement; I can only prayerfully hope that those persons responsible for the closure of Heritage USA are sensing deep remorse for their actions and have asked Jesus to forgive them.

My pastor has said many times over that nothing happens by accident. I am a born again, spirit-filled Christian. I came to the Lord just about the time that the Bakker-Hahn scandal broke; but I had watched Jim and Tammy Bakker and was very much intrigued about Heritage USA years earlier. I would have to say that the PTL ministry had a very important part in the events which led up to my salvation. I never was able to come to Heritage USA in person for a visit. I would have dearly loved to visit there, but never had the opportunity to do so.

Hopefully, prayerfully, someone or some group of means will be able to purchase the property from that Malaysian company and go about the task of rebuilding Heritage USA as an oasis of Christian love. I agree that a major Christian ministry will likely have to be involved in that kind of a venture. Either a newly birthed ministry, or an established ministry which would agree to relocate to the Heritage USA property.

Would Tammy Faye Bakker-Messner be at the forefront of an endeavor to rebuild Heritage USA? I know that's her heart's desire. Perhaps she and Roe will be the ones that God ordains to lead the effort to rebuild Heritage USA and rededicate it to the Glory of God.

I wouldn't even mind seeing Jim Bakker come back in some capacity. However, Jim would have to be completely and totally accountable as an employee of the organization or ministry which eventually heads up the efforts of rebuilding Heritage USA. He would have to be kept on a very tight leash by those to whom he would have to submit. He would have to realize that he is simply an employee. An employee who can be disciplined, up to and including being terminated for violating policy.

I just visited "Heritage USA" this past weekend. We were able to go through most of the property. Many road were blocked off, but still got views of most of the buildings. Although I have seen many pictures, we could not place the site of Kevin's house. We had visited many years ago but could not remember where it was. I know it's burned but could not find anything. If anyone knows the exact location please let me know. We figured the road now must be blocked, but not remembering where it was is driving me and my wife crazy!

To get to Kevins house you would cross the railroad tracks and instead of bearing left at the Grand Hotel you would bear right. This also took you down to the barns that the animals are kept at for the Narrow Way production. You also had the bunk houses down in this area.

Thanks so much...when we were there last week this road (Farmhouse rd.) was indeed chained off, so we would not have seen it, I was how ever able to go to mapquest.com and look at an aerial view and see the house, the sattelite shot must be before the burning of the house. No we were there mid day before in shows, but we plan on returning and staying in one of the lakeside lodges and attending a show at Naroway. thanks again !

I agree with Michael on the condition of the property. It is
especially sad for me as I worked some with PTL in the early
80's and was involved in the move to Heritage USA. I worked
as a field video technician in the production end and vividly
remember the opening ceromonies, taping the construction
as it was in progress to be broadcast over the show to
update the viewers.

The front of the property is a very nice housing development with a golf course, but as soon as you cross the railroad tracks it's a ghost town.

There was so much activity and wonderful people there and
it was a very happy place in the early days. The studio sits in the middle of the woods like a ghost. with grass growning up through
the parking lots.

As I stood there I asked God to please speak to me as I am sure there was a lesson to be learned from all of this mess.

Just wondering if there were any websites or if anyone had pics of heritage usa as it is today... i was reading bakker's book "i was wrong" and got interested in the whole thing again. i used to watch them when i was a kid and was sad to see such a neat place for christians fall into such disrepair. i look at the aerial view that i found on this board, but without any markings on it, i dont know which buildings were which... thanks for any comments or help on this!
