Seems like a "slow" period for games.. and not just this forum...
I've not heard much "to do" about various new games coming out... is it just a resting period for the industry? Or am I missing the good stuff? |

All the PC game makers are scrambling after the Dreamcast debuted. They couldn't possibly release anything that looked as pretty without going back to the drawing board.
Sony isn't relesing anything decent for the playstation because all the big shops are making P2 games for the August release. Nintendo is also gearing up for the Dolphin. Sega ins't releasing games on a very aggresive schedule. I like chinese checkers. |

Good points. Still, we shouldn't be made to suffer

Actually the Dreamcast thing is a joke. PC games can easily be as pretty as Dreamcast games. What counts more is playability with as many developlers sa there are you get more variety and better games on the PC. Don't get me wrong I like my Dreamcast and I love my Playstation. But nothing has ever kept my attetion more than my PC games.
As for Sony not releasing anything because of Playstation 2 that's a joke. As the PS2 wil be bacwards compatible it would hurt them to stop making games for the PS. As more people will have a PS for the next year than the PS2. expect the release of the PS2 to go over huge in Japan. March will bring the biggest influx of good games this year. More to come in a later post. |

They should make games that dont bite.
I mean really, who wants to play another first person shooter, rpg, flightsim, real time stratagy, or action adventure game? what the people want is something new something that is different Something that causes hallucinations and convulsions. Something that has been known to cause cancer in labratory animals. |

One thing that is hitting big are the MMORPG's ... UO, Everquest, Asheron's Call, etc... They are persistant, sticky aplications. Games like those are going to be the future IMHO. They have the human touch... and the potential for facing the most devestating ( and lamest too ) AI, the human brain.
