I watched the film the entity last night and it reminded me of when I was about 15 yrs old. I was lying awake in bed when a mans invisible arm seemed to come out of the wall and grabbed my upper arm really tightly.
I screamed and my mother ran in and saw where the hand was pressing imprints on my arm. She shouted at it to let me go - and it did.
I moved my bed to beside a window and had no more trouble. My mother would not discuss it.
Years later I asked her about it and she confessed that she knew the previous occupant of the house had hung himself in my room.
That was why my door had a hole in it - the police had kicked it open!
I have had other experiences of poltergeists and ghosts - yet saying that I am very sceptical about it - and always try to find a rational answer since not all happenings are ghosts.
I would have passed the arm squeeze off as sleep paralysis had I been alone - only when someone else is there with you and assures you that you are awake it is more difficult to rationalise!!!
The Entity left me and some friends with the conclusion that maybe the son had raped the mother and it was too horrible for her to come to terms with - which is why she invented the story and why the son went aloong with it as a witness - although after researching it I must say it does seem that there are other credible witnesses.

Wow! What an incredible experience and frightening too! Reading through these makes me feel comforted to know that I am not alone with paranormal and unexplainable forces. However, my experience with a "spirit" came to me shortly after a terrible illness and has been, so far to be very loving, validating and comforting. He has not harmed me in any way, but has been very respectful and kind. I am sorry that all of you have had terrible, brutal experiences that have left you victimized and terrified. I know not what my future holds for me, but I intend on exploring further with my Higher Power for guidance on deciding for certain whether to end the relationship with this "entity" for good before I make that final closure because I don't believe we, in this dimension have all the answers when it is a spiritual, good experience. Again, I am so sorry for the negative, bad experiences you all have had. This spirit has been a dear friend to me and has embraced me and enveloped my body to the point where I just melt in his arms. He has sighted poetry to me in my thoughts and has told me beautiful affirming things. I feel light and tingly sometimes when his presence is near like a school aged girl, I know it sounds silly, but it is true. He has become like a comforting best friend to me. I have come to truly love him. I have asked him to not be around when my spouse is around and my sons are around so that they have my complete attention and I am not listening or communicating with him because I want to give him my full attention! And he respects that. I have asked him also to give me my time with my Higher Power because spirituality is very high priority in my life, and he respects that. It is crazy and I do not understand it. Now, that it has been almost two weeks and he has given me "space". My therapist tells me I must say goodbye to him because she thinks it will eventually ruin my relationship with my husband. Maybe she is right. But I feel that he has become a part of me that I do not ever want to give up, this is so hard. I must pray about it, I suppost, any ideas people??? Or do some of you skeptics (go ahead, I used to be one myself and I would have read this a month ago, even and thought this lady is off her rocker!!!!) have opinions?? Thanks.

Most of you on here are a bunch of idiots. Life does not have to prove itself to you or paranormal activity for that matter or any spiritual energy. The astral plane exists all around us and this is where spirits reside. Some of us can go into a trance and sense this and others can not. Just because many of you can not experience this doesn't mean its not real. You have never seen the planet Mars or most things in our solar system and yet you believe that stuff is true.

One should be careful when you let yourself connect so strongly to a spirit. The bliss state that one can experiance as result has no direct counter source in out mondain life. ............actually, she described her attacker as a large oriental man. The actual history of the house was, indeed, found, and it just so happened that an asian couple had lived in that same house many years previous, and died there. Not to say that it is relevant......

Im a single mom who for a year strait was taking med school full time and a full time job when my son was 6 months, i got like 2-4 hours of sleep a night and i never had any hallucinations. And being a christian woman, i completely believe that there are demons that attack us, physically (rare) but mentally, constant warfare. We all have a seal on us and we all have a great purpose, and the enemy will try to shatter that at any cost. so i guess just keep an open mind and look at all possibilities and dont be so quick to let someone know that they are just going crazy, or are ill. god bless

Has anyone read the book from which the movie was based? It is really good. More thorough than the movie. I don't know what to think. I totally believed she was being raped by a ghost when I watched the movie. Then I read the book.......I now think she may suffer from mental illness. Sorry the book gives that impression.

Anyway, I do believe in paranormal activities. That being said, my question is this: If there are ghosts, spirits, etc. existing along with us, can they see us having sex and doing other intimate things. That makes me really embarrassed to think that something is watching me. HEHE, I know it is silly, but don't you guys ever think about that?

And why don't these so called "friendly" spirits ever intervene when someone is being murdered by a serial killer or a child is being abused. They obviously have the power, right?

Here's my take on it....
I believe she was raped by something..it's just that only SHE could see it so naturally people would think she was "crazy" and not believe her. This is where The Entity was the strongest. No one could do anything to it because,according to everybody around her,it was all in Carla's mind.
(What this actually is,is a form of denial,kinda like the Lutzes and the Amityville Horror: "If you don't believe in it,it doesn't exist." Wrong!)
She wasn't insane. I believe the psychiatrists,ironically,in trying to help her,DROVE her insane
by confusing her. She sees one thing,they tell her the opposite. You would go insane too.
Yet The Entity couldn't be invisible ALL the time..It WAS able to make itself known,by the way,only to certain individuals who refused to believe their own eyes.
They could also see what it was doing to Mrs. Moran,the house,the manifestations in the house,the poltegeist activity,and finally..the most important thing of all: The effects it had on Mrs. Moran & probably still does,assuming she is still alive.
So yes,in my opinion,the Entity did and does exist.
