Delete older versions of AOL and keeping my saved PFC
Hello,
First, let me say that I am posting here because I liked a reply that I read here from ehari bottomline..If i cannot fix it.....they cannot fix it. ![]() My computer is using Windows ME hooked up through Broadband Cable (Comcast), AOL version 9.0 Optimized I had several versions of Aol on my computer. I wanted to keep only one version (9.0 Optimized) on it. I asked AOL how do I delete the others and keep only one. They explained to me how to do this. Which I did with no problem (sort of). But now, my address book is blank, not all my favorite places are listed, and none of my Saved on my PC-Incoming/saved mail is there. Help! Here's some stuff that I did. I read *sigh* cannot open my address book. Deleted the .ab* files from all the user names. Now when I get on AOL I can open my address book but it is blank however when I go through my Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 6.0.2800.11106IS) use aol.com my addresses are there. ? ? ? I tried to restore my AOL Filing Cabinet Files. Using these steps. 1.On the desktop I double clicked the AOL Saved PFC folder 2. Double clicked on the America online folder 3. Right clicked the Organize folder then selected Copy 4. Closed the folders 5. Clicked Start, programs, america online, AOL System Information, Data Folder 6. Right clicked the America Online 9.0 folder then selected Paste 7. Clicked Yes to All replacing the existing organize folder 8. Closed all folders and windows 9. Logged on to AOL to see what was there. Like I mentioned earlier only some of my favorite places are listed and none of my Saved on my PC-Incoming/saved mail is there. ? ? ? There's also an AOL Saved Files Folder on my desktop. I didn't do anything with this. When I double click it the title changes to AOL Downloads, there's America Online folders for the different versions of AOL. When I double click one theres an AOL Downloads folder. When I double click it, to open it, it goes back to the AOL Downloads file (the one with America Online folders of the different versions) ? ? ? But when I click it once, it highlights it and inside the window reads America Online; AOL Downloads shortcut; Location: C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Documents;Modified 2/22/2008 6:42PM; Size: 377 bytes; Attributes: (normal). What is this folder or what am I suppose to do with it? Well, that's it. I tried to put in as much information that I could. I probably put in to much information. Can someone please help me? Thank You, Ugogrlfrnd |
