Can anyone send me in the right direction to troubleshooting AOL 7.0 Alternate ISP.
As current I have my own ISP and I want to use AOL software. But I cannot figure out how AOL can dial my ISP by default. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Aol can only dial up aol numbers, or connect via TCP/IP. All you have to do is sign onto your other ISP the way you normally do, then launch AOL, and set up a TCP/IP connection.
Signing onto AOL via TCP/IP connection 1. Sign onto your ISP 2. Launch AOL 3. select ISP/LAN in the Location box. Click signon If you do not have ISP/Lan as a choice in your Locations you'll have to set it up. Setting up TCP/IP (isp/lan) location in aol. 1. Sign onto your ISP 2. Launch AOL 3. Click on setup, then expert setup. 4. Click on the "Devices,Modems, etc..." Tab at the top. 5. Click on "Autodetect" 6. After a moment you should have two choices; Modem Telephone Line, and ISP/LAN. Select ISP/LAN. Click Next, click next again. If you are connected to your isp as indicated in step1 you should get your welcome screen. You do have an AOL account right? |
