well, im an aol member, but whenever im on my mom's computer(who doesn't have aol) i try to look up profiles, but cant and that sux. and none of the websites that you guys listed helped, they all suck, i guess ill have to wait till im on my computer, but if you want to talk to me im me, or instant message me, im bored.

Aren't the AIM Profiles different from the actual AOL Profiles??? I've always figured you had to have AOL to get an AOL profile. There isn't anyway to get it without AOL. AOL Hometown is for webpages created by AOL users. You can try there to see if your friend has a webpage.

yes it dose suck for us aim users that we can not see aol profiles.. i think we should be able too..... just because we do not subscribe to aol... shouldn't mean we can't look at profiles.

Well, I'd view it more as a 'tactic' but a scam .. but you are right - that's one of the motivations. AOL has *lots* of exclusive content that only AOL members can access; it's really what the service is designed around.

I think it's perfectly understandable that they want to have exclusive content that only paid members see.

You *can* sign up for an AOL account, then change your billing to their cheapest (limited hours) plan and pay only $5 a month. That would allow you to see all the profiles you want, provided you were careful and didn't stay online too long (sign on only to look at profiles, etc). Really depends on how much seeing people's profiles is worth.

Honestly, since people can say whatever they want in their profiles, I've always thought they are pretty useless. You can learn a great deal more about a person by talking (chatting) to them than you can learn by reading some silly profile.

Has anyone ever thought of just asking the person to copy their profile into an email and send it to you?

I Think it's so ridiculous that Aim Users cannot view Aol profiles! I know AIM is free and you don't have all the options you do on Aol.But Aim users should be allowed to View aol profiles, They make up profiles to make it visible to people who want to read it and I would love to actually be able to read my friends profiles that actually have AOL. I think Aol is ridiculous anyways because it's highly overpriced for just internet and they try to keep Aim users from seeing anything that has to do with their aol users. i don't know if i make any sense or not, i'm just sick of it. I Am using a cable modem internet that's cheaper than aol and they can take their high dollar company and shove it. I think people who pay like 29.95 for aol are stupid. it's nothing but a con. they get you hooked on it by those discs and then sometimes you don't even get time to cancel it and they charge you. i just hate it! And i would LOVE IT if i could see Aol users profiles!
