Hm... Well, if you can't trust your boyfriend, perhaps you shouldn't be dating him.

If you want to see your boyfriend's profile, ask him. I'm sure he'd be willing to e-mail it to you or something. If he wouldn't be willing, perhaps he does have something to hide.

As far as I know, there's no site out there that works reliably. There's been a few posted from time to time, but after a few days they stop working or are taken down.

AOL should let AIM users view the profiles, because AOL users are able to view AIM profiles, yes, AIM users do not pay for their 'profiles' but still it should work both ways. If we are restricted, they should be too. Errrr, its frustrating. I know there will be a reply saying blah blah blah, aol has a right to do this, but I don't care, if we can't see theirs, they shouldn't be able to see ours....

This is my opinion and I am allowed to have an opinion... so you can tell me I am wrong but it doesn't matter, even aol users are admitting that its pointless. That is getting pretty sad. But oh well people, AOL doesn't care, so just try 'n' get all your friends to stop using AOL, thats the most you can do, other then ask someone to get the profile for you.

Exclamation AOL,Shopping/Propaganda ISP

I agree with your comments,my personal experience of AOL was,its okay to joke and chat about war,but dont say S**t,they censor everything,so only the questions posed back up the goverments views...Know of them redirecting shopping Web Pages,to other sites than the ones requested,so they can sell products linked to them.....Had my account terminated 2 days before Bushes visit, same as peace campaiging Vicar,i heard about, yes i wrote a lot of Anti Bush.stuff my freedom of speech...I got booted for copying the word turd, someone else had written about someone else, childish i know.......Informmation sharing for free..Good job nobody can be kings or queens of the net, what ever they try and tell people..I know 5 people leave AOL ,since Christmas...HaHaHa

Welcome to TIW!

What you're missing is that AOL members like myself pay for their service. You pay no money for your AIM service. Of course there are going to be additional features for AOL members, or else everyone would ditch AOL and get AIM. That said, there have also been features for AIM that were not available for AOL members. Usually the two catch up, but it happens.

I'm not supporting AOL here, in fact I rarely if ever use AOL. Like many others I'm now on a non-aol broadband connection but want to keep my AOL screen name, so I pay.

AOL is a company above all else, and companies want to profit and make money. In this respect AOL is no different. They have additional features for paying members as an incentive for purchasing the paid version.

That's just how things are I guess.

aol profiles

You can view AOL members homepages, which are listed on their profiles by typing in http://hometown.aol.com/
followed by their screen name after the slash in your address bar. As far as viewing the profile itself, I don't know a way, but I hope this helps.

Who freakin' cares?

Viewing the profile of other paying AOL members is a privilege one gets from paying to use a service, it's not a right. AOL doesn't allow non AOL members to view AOL profiles because they feel they need to keep up some illusion of privacy (As private as a network with a trillion people on it can be). AOL has come under fire before by not letting members from other Internet services contact it's members in a real time format (I.E., not E-mail). Frankly, I don't think not being able to see the profile of an AOL member isn't something worth losing sleep over. Like you're going to learn some deep and/or dark secret about them in their profile that wouldn't be uncovered in the first 30 seconds of a conversation? Want to view AOL member profile and don't have AOL? Cough up an additional 15 bucks a month and get AOL. If AIM did everything AOL did for free, it would be rather counterproductive for the world's largest telecommunication conglomerate. It's same reason AIM doesn't go into Member Chats. AOL is in business to make money, and do so by offering various levels of service. It doesn't mean they suck. And to say AOL sucks because they don't let people using their free software do half the things their paying subscribers can do is like saying General Motors sucks because Chevrolet doesn't make a $14,000 car that's as luxurious as a $50,000 Caddy.

Cool geez

don't tell me that you're comparing AOL to a luxury car. It's more like a bumper car. It allows you to bump around and fumble about, encountering others doing quite the same. Giggling and laughing, because they've never driven a real car. I'm guessing that a lot of stalkers are trying to track down AOL users. Just get one of those coasters and sign up for a month if you're that desprate to read someone's profile. 1024 hours later, you'l have it out of your system, and you can start stalking someone with yahoo messenger instead. Although, it is a tad anoying that aol-profiles.com or whatever it was got shut down by "the man".

Thumbs down aol profiles

Here's an idea if you all want to see them soooooooooooooooooo bad then why dont you:
1. Subscribe to AOL then look at it
2. Go over a friends/family members place that has aol and look at them
3. Get one of those annoying AOL for so and so month free cds and pop it in
4. Suffer the choice of not having aol and having to possible pay for a second phone line!!

Great Ideas Huh?

i agree with barry allen, your an ***.

spare me the manufactured arguement, if someone was inspired enough to write a program that can search through aol's profiles, then props to them, and i for one believe that its unmoral to shut them down. id call myself a hypocrite if i were to be mad at aol for writing a program that stoped them, but they didnt. however forcing them to shutdown is wrong. technological warefare IS a fair game. besides, these are only profiles were talking about here, im sorry if someone upset your stable little world by reading your o so private profile. heres an idea, if you dont want people to read it, dont post it, ***.

Thumbs down That is so friggin stupid

Sounds like you are saying AOL is some select group of special people. There are just as many creeps and weirdos on AOL as anywhere else. Just because I want to see who and what you are about, doesn't mean I want to watch you take a piss. Take stock...you aren't that exclusive

Wink

It's simple! All you have to do is go to aim.com and i think it's called AIM express, log on to that and u can see any profile you want. Although i know it might be a pain to log onto that all the time, but i think it's the only way. I know there were websites once where you simply type in the s/n and it gives you the profile, but they all have been shut down once AOL found out. AIM Express is the easiest!!
