Try this!

Try www.subprofile.com
It's a free service and lets you add cool stuff and unlimted space for text!
Try it out!

Unhappy I am clueless. sorry.

I really am. I tried searching for that file (info.htm) and it didnt come up- I have xp, too- and I also got a resource hacker a couple weeks ago to change my smileys (which did not work, by the way) and I tried to get that file in there but couldnt find it. am I just missing this or what? I really just want to make my profile longer, cause no one wants to click on the link, and I already have a subpro for the guestbook n stuff.

ps- a bunch of the posts say that I ignored a user (I havent even been here before) and when I click the link to view the message its a 'page cannot be displayed' thingy.

pps- I LOVE your smilies! I've never seen so many or such cool ones!

haha!

ummmm

if its really that big of a deal and you can't work my method with windows XP, i'd go with one of those sub profile things online, or just make a really basic website and link it in there.....sorry i can't help you all with XP i just don't know how it works

For those of you who are lost i'll explain fully how i did it...

Specs:
Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2)
AIM 5.1 (3036)
DeadAIM 3.0

Before proceding:
Open My Documents, Click Tools, Folder Options, View, Show Hidden Files and Folders.

info.htm is located in:
C:\Documents and Settings\(User)\Application Data\Aim\(Screenname)\info.htm

Although i have edited my profile using notepad and frontpage i still cannot get it to an unlimited length. While i may have helped some, could anyone tell me why it wont show my whole profile?

hrm... having a bit of trouble...

alright, i followed the instructions posted about Windows XP Pro (thanx!) and i've got my AIM info looking exactly how i want it in the HTML.. but, when i check my AIM info from my buddy list.. sometimes i can't get it to change. when i finally did (which i haven't figured out how to do again) the link i have doesn't show up. i've used the correct mark-ups, i'm sure, because on the HTML, i can click the link and it works. how can i make sure that it transfers from the HTML to my actual AIM info.. and how can i make my link work? thanx...

Re: Use InfiniteProfiles!

Thank you for telling the people how to make a longer profile. I don't know what I would do without you!

I have a way to get past that (it's kinda like a sub profile but if you word it right for the link in your profile people should just think it's an extended profile. because it won't have the little ads and the stuff you don't want) after i crack these 4 or 5 programs i have in line for me to crack i'll try to crack the Profile limit in the AIM Profiles and i [MIGHT] try to crack the Send limit. Find me on AIM RezokukenVIII or Lucifer1587

subprofile ideas

Any ideas for an "about me" quiz? I tried but I can't make it long enough to be a sufficient quiz... So if you have any ideas... well you get my drift.

An alternative to using a profile service like SubProfile to make your profile longer:

Make an HTML page and upload it to your webspace if you have some (I personally have it on the server on my PC and it works fine). If you have PHP or Perl on your space you can use that in the page too. However, you can't have any XHTML, CSS or Javascript, and the HTML itself is very limited in the AIM browser (e.g. no images).

Edit your AIM profile so it has a link using the following HTML:

<a href="http://site.ext/url.ext" target="_self">text</a>

Obviously, replace the URI with the location of the profile you created, and "text" with what you want to show the link as.

Once you log back into AIM, you'll have a SubProfile-esque profile that's totally customisable by you.
