does anybody know how to edit the file that contains your profile on AOL IM? I know there's a way to do it i just can't seem to find it (and i'm not talking about subprofile or any of that stuff, I'm talking about actually making it longer w/o a link). ideas?

if you know HTML, you can edit a file called info.htm that's located in C:\WINDOWS\aim95\(your buddy name here). at least it's there for me, i have Win98. if you can't find it in that folder, you could always do a file search. once you've found the file, make sure AIM is completely off (make sure the little yellow guy isn't in the taskbar) and edit the HTML. then sign on AIM and your profile should be all set. the only problem i've run into is that sometimes AIM doesn't display all of my new edited profile. the end of the profile is cut off. but sometimes it isn't! i'm not sure why. if you have any questions, or if you figure out how to fix my problem, you can email me at (For privacy reasons, we cannot allow unregistered Guests to post e-mail addresses. Um........... I don't know how you do this. I found the HTML but I can't edit it, how do you edit it? Please help

to edit the file just open it with notepad and type... you can use HTML... go to http://www.htmlgoodies.com to learn html if you need help you can email me... mjg1032 at hotmail.com

To open the file with NotePad, hold down the shift key, and right click the file. Click on Open With... and select NotePad from the list.

visit my profile and if you like it, u can download it. My AIM sn is "TUAN2003"

I have WinXP Pro and AIM+ there is no info.htm in the "screenname" folder. I also did a search for the file and it didn't exist. No folders with my screenname exist either.

I found it...

look in:

"C:\Documents and Settings\User Name.COMPUTER NAME\Application Data\Aim\SCREEN NAME\info.htm"

(I have XP Pro too)

You just have to be sure to include hidden and system files in your search for "info.htm"

I was wondering if anyone knew how to use Resource hacker or a hex editor to remove the text limiting in away messeges and profiles, or maybe a third party download to help me out. Thanks in advance

I also tried to look for info.htm, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Where would I look??

When I add more stuff I tried to make it longer than before but it stops my info in the middle of a sentence because the stuff i added is to much....can u help me..?
