Hm. Guess DeadAIM isn't one of the best things in life then. It is, however, one of the better AIM addons I've ever seen. A fair amount of decent features, and few if any bugs. Honestly, it looks like alot of work went into the program. Is it so wrong for someone to want to be paid for their hard work?

In addition, putting things up on the internet is not without cost. All of the downloads that DeadAIM was generating was probably costing the author money. Why should he pay out of his own pocket to provide you and everyone else with something for free?

DeadAIM isn't made by AOL.. it's made by an independant individual (might be a company, I don't know). AOL doesn't make any money off of DeadAIM sales .. you are paying the programmer.

I hope not. I feel that $4.50 (or whatever it is) is a fair price for the software, considering the features. That's barely more than the price of a fast food meal. Stay home next time you want McDonalds. Buy DeadAIM, make yourself a peanut butter sandwich. Not trying to be harsh, but sheesh, it's not like the guy wants $100 per copy or anything. Sounds to me like he's just trying to break even.

An economic recovery, I hope. I mean, don't get me wrong.. I like free stuff and I am definitely in favor of people helping other people out of the goodness of their hearts.. but getting away from the mentality that everything on the internet is and should be free will do a lot to help out the world in general. Reasonable costs for decent products will lead to spending. Spending will lead to business growth, business growth will lead to more jobs... etc, etc. I hope you can see how that's all good stuff.

DeadAIM is worth the $5.
