If this has been asked before please forgive me; i'm dumb. I want to view aol profiles and i am not an aol member. how can i do so?? Also, if anyone knows a website i can use to search profiles of people with common interests, please contact me; my friends suck and i want to meet some guys to jam with (gtars, basses, drums, etc). I live in Noble, oklahoma and want to meet some people around the central oklahoma area with an interest in rock/metal type band music.

Unfortunately, there currently isn't a way to view AOL member profiles if you aren't an AOL member.

If you are using a different ISP, about the best suggestion I have for you is to join AOL, and switch to the BYOA plan. This allows unlimited access to AOL for only $10 a month. You'd be using your existing connection to gain access to AOL.

I like to know how you find out if someone emails me and i dont know who can i look up thier profile to find out who they are?

Why dont you just email the person and ask them who they are? IF they dont reply and you dont want to join AOL, then email someone you know who has aol, and ask them to find the profile for you.......

I also wish I could look at AOL profiles....Im like the only person out of all of my friends who doesnt have AOL I have compuserve. so dont think your the only one who has this problem

I agree. I also don't have AOL, but have CompuServe and all my friends are like "You have to read my profile", but I can't cause there is no way for me to read it. AOL should make a way to let non AOL members be able to read AOL member profiles without having to join AOL.

Except that I think the idea is to get you to join AOL.... They want to attract more customers, etc.

hey! I understand exactly!! I always want to look up AOL profiles, but I can't. I ask my friends to look them up and E-mail them, but I don't want to bug them all the time. I really think that AOL should find a way to let non-AOL users look at them.

Oh my gosh...I have cs but no AOL and I also think that this is a problem and they should do something abot the profile problems...people from AOL can IM us but we can't look their profiles and it's really a problem...

I'm trying to find the aol e-mail address of friends of mine. Does anyone have an idea how I can do this? Please e-mail suggestions to [deleted] (I'm not really sure I can get back to this page again to read your answers...)
And by the way I refuse to become an aol member so there better be another solution..

Only by asking your friend. You can also use an e-mail white pages service like www.infospace.com, but that doesn't often meet with success.

OK~I have aim..but I really wanna check AOL profiles..I think AOL should put a way to check the profiles on www.aol.com
The only reason why i don't have aol, is because i live in hitterdal and it would be long distance everytime we got on..so we use a local telephone company..!

I also agree...I have AOL Instant Messenger service and I am completely satisfied with it! Except for the fact that I cannot view AOL users profile from AIM. I think it should be possible.

AOL provides internet access for its members, but it also provides some AOL-only content. Member Profiles for AOL are considered to be content for AOL's members only. If someone has an AOL name, they're free to download AIM at http://www.aim.com and set up an AIM profile there. If you want access to AOL's member profiles and the rest of AOL's content, you'd want to sign up for a free trial of AOL. If you use another internet service to connect, after the free trial you'd be eligible to use their Bring Your Own Access price plan, which is discounted from the regular plan.

...TRY GOING TO KEYWORD AND TYPING IN MEMBER DIRECTORY THEN WHEN THAT BOX COMES UP TYPE IN THE SCREEN NAME YOU ARE TRYING TO READ PROFILE FOR. OR YOU CAN TYPE IN PROFILES IN THE KEYWORD SPACE AND IT SHOULD TAKE YOU TO MEMBER DIRECTORY.
