I agree.. you're definitely out of luck. Basically someone broke into an 'stole' your account. As the only way to prove that it's yours is the personal information associated with it (secret question, etc - all of which they've changed) you probably won't be getting it back.

You could contact hotmail support and see if they can be of any help. I'd recommend being very very nice when doing so. You're going to have a tough time proving it's yours to begin with.

If you don't get it back - you can always get a free e-mail account here at TheIdeaWeb instead. People are a bit less likely to want to steal our accounts.. as we're several billion times smaller than HotMail.

To get a free e-mail account here, just click 'get a free e-mail account' on the main page at www.theideaweb.com .

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

My sent messages don't show my name in the inbox

When I send a message, it is recieved in the recipients inbox without my name and it is not the signature problem. It will send a subject though.

PROBLEM

I have the same problem as everyone else and the person who usually sorts out my computer is out of town for 3 months! I have tried to contact this person but not being here means they cant see the problem. My msn messenger and my hotmail account. I have temporarily opened a yahoo account but I want my hotmail back!!!
I think I also have a virus because my norton security has also been blocked. Does anyone have ANY advice???

Hotmail Problems

….....rhogan70@yahoo.com - I'm having trouble with my Hotmail account.....which is relatively frequently. When I go to my Inbox, before the Inbox loads I get the following error message:

Line: 14
Char: 141
Error: Unterminated string constant
Code: 0
URL: http//by18fd.bay18.hotmail.msn.com/cgi-bin/HoTMaiL?

And then when I try to open an e-mail message, I get a similar error message and the e-mail will not open. Is this a MS IE problem, a MSN problem, a MSN Hotmail problem, a MS Windows XP problem or some other problem I'm having with my computer?

Talking here

well someone OBVIOUSLY broke into ur account..but in order to do that they must have known the answer to ur secret question...so that person mustve been a friend or family member, or someone u r close to.

Hard to say which it is. To narrow it down, try emptying your temporary internet files (including all offline content). To do this, open IE, then click Tools > Options > Delete Files > select "All Offline Content" > Click OK > OK. After that, close all open browser windows, and give it another try. If you still get the same message, then it's likely to be an IE or Windows problem.. or might be related to other software that is interfering with your web browsing.
