Solution to access Hotmail blank page

IN Vista - click start>all programs>accessories>system tools>click on Internet Explorers (no add ons) close and reopen IE and you should be able to log on from this point. I You may have to do this until you remove the specific add on that is blocking you hotmail page.

Exclamation

Alright, at least I know I'm not alone and that this is something that's been happening for years. I'm running Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, I know it's ancient, but it's been great until tonight. I had this Windows Update business go through, and now my hotmail is blank, windowsupdate page is blank, my passwords for Outlook are gone, my sign in name on Messenger is gone, I can't access links, no other windows will come up. I've gone into my System files, and it tells me there are files there(on the bottom) but it's not showing me the files or the link at the side even to show the files. I've tried my regedit, but when I go to the properties of each process, the window won't show, but then when I try to close regedit, it tells me to close the property windows. ??????? I'm using Spybot to scan my system now, and one thing has come up - MyWayMyWebSearch... if I get rid of this, will it wipe out my system like that old search bar garbage a few years ago that did that? ANd what else do I do now???? S.O.S.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smile Solved

I had this problem and tried everything suggested until I decided to disable my Zone Alarm Security site. When I did that I logged into hotmail and it worked just fine. So there is obviously something with your security settings stopping you from accesing hotmail. So just disable your security site and see if it works.

I found a SOLUTION!!

I had the same symptoms as described by many here ...

at first I thought it was a virus & cleaned off my whole computer hard drive, reinstalled everything. But I still could not access certain websites, like craigslist.com, walmart.com, and many others.

so, then I tried the VBScript Support suggestion on page 1, and after many hours of trying to figure it out, my computer said that I did not need to install that package b/c my service pack was newer.

Well, my brother suggested that perhaps the router has been corrupted and trying to reroute me to other sites, so I plugged my modem directly to the laptop and voila! I could access any website I wanted to!

Solution: reconfigure router, factory settings, upgrade firmware, reconnect network.

YAY!!

This fix worked for me - no installing/uninstalling stuff required

I was having the same problem - when I went to hotmail using firefox or internet explorer I would get a blank page. I did the following and it permanently fixed my problem:

First close the internet browser then:

Reset the stack:
1. Click the Start button on your taskbar
2. Select run
3. In the open box type: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
4. Click OK

then

Reset the winsock catalog:
1. Click the Start button on your taskbar
2. Select run
3. In the open box type: netsh winsock reset catalog
4. Click OK

That is it - you should be able to use hotmail again.
