block hotmail blank page solved
Hi guys,
I am an IT guy and I have read all your threats and tried everything, but nothing worked, mostly it made it worse. So what I have done is to install WinXP SP2, against all my believes and against the fact that it is really bad. But it did solve my problems with hotmail. This comes from the point as a update from microsoft did not run correctly. Maybe this helps |

I have xp pro, the win script 5.6 didn't work for me. The solution I found was that spyware(browser hijack) was causing the problem. I just used webroots spy sweeper, just the free trial version and it found some spyware and removed it and hotmail poped right up!. Just go to www.webroot.com to dowload the free software...

I came across this fix for when you get a blank page trying to access your hotmail account and you are using windows XP. It has to do with MTU's.
Go to http://www.dslreports.com/drtcp and click on DRTCP021.exe when the window pops up click on run On the lower right hand corner where it stays MTU enter 1200 Click on Save REBOOT!!!!!! Now try to get to your hotmail account. It worked for me. |

Try Mozilla's Firefox
I had the same problem w/ accessing Hotmail. Tried all the things mentioned here, but did not work. The problem did occur after I used HijackThis to clean up some spyware (must have cleaned up something I should not have).
Anyway, those who are desparate to get their Hotmail mails, try this workaround. Visit Mozilla.org and download Firefox 1.0 and install it. It is browser that has been hailed as the great subsitute for IE and prevents all spware, adwares and the ****s. I logged in Hotmail fine with Firefox and got my email. If you still find a solution to this on IE, please email me at lvajra@hotmail.com. Thanks, |

not a settings problem
l don't think it is a computer settings problem. l run an internet cafe and about 1 in 10 customers are now having this problem. 9 out of 10 people can sit at the same computer and have no problems getting into hotmail, then the 10th will get the blank white screen. lf l try my hotmail account straight after the problem l get through no problem. lf the customer with the problem tries 12 different computers then all will give him the white screen. lt's got to be a problem at hotmail's end. l figured they were doing upgrades on some hotmail server computers...

Contacted hotmail tech support
I ask hotmail tech support about the problem n i think its their side. The First solution was to do something like:
Change the following in the address: http://by20fd.bay20.hotmail.msn.com/...n/HoTMaiL?.... to: http://by23fd.bay23.hotmail.msn.com/cgi-bin/HoTMaiL?... That worked for a while n didnt worked after a few days. Next was to just get rid of everything infront of hotmail: http://hotmail.msn.com/cgi-bin/HoTMaiL?... That also worked for a while n suddenly stopped working. If anyone got any better ideas, would be glad to hear |

Hi all,
My problem is a little different here. I use a wireless LAN at home to share my connection among my computers. My 2 laptops at home would show a blank screen after logging into Hotmail, using IE6 Window XP, on my own LAN. However, if I switch over to my neighbour's wireless LAN, both laptops have no problems with Hotmail whatsoever. They open beautifully. So I was a little disturbed that there might be a problem with my router settings instead. Then again, Hotmail was the only server giving me problems. I have no problems with any other websites so far (touch wood). So I got Firefox and try to log into Hotmail on my own LAN. I have no problems. They open beautifully. So now .... 1. Is it my IE settings? Hotmail logged in nicely on neighbour's network without me making any changes, while it just showed a blank screen on my own LAN. 2. Or is it my own LAN settings? If it is, why would Firefox log in nicely without any changes as well? Appreciate any thoughts on this. My sister is getting peeved with me and my LAN. |
