I have the same problem on my work computer (trying to go into hotmail brings up a blank screen with "done" at the bottom of the IE window). I have tried the suggestions listed in this thread, but nothing has worked.

My home computers work fine with my hotmail account (both running XP Home). My work computer (XP Pro) is the one that has the problem, and it only started about a week ago. Since I started having the problem, I tried a Win2K and WinNT computer here at work, and both had the same problem. I tried an old Win95 computer here at work, and hotmail worked fine.

I don't know exactly what this means. Is there something in the relatively less secure Win95 and XP Home OS's that is allowing it to work?

Hi guys ..
You know, maybe hotmail is just doing some work on their mail servers or whatever. I had this problem for a week and it was driving me nuts. Then 2 days back, my IE worked perfectly again with hotmail without me doing any changes to the settings whatever.

I did install Firefox though ... but I guess now that is not necessary.

I was having same problem, but managed to resolve it.

I was having the same problem loggin into hotmail. I would get to the sign in page and enter my info, but it would then go to a blank white page and just hang there. I tried ALL of the solutions mentioned above, but found that by simply downloading the Explorer 6.0 service pack 1 the problem was corrected. I haven't had any problems with hotmail since.........well, I guess that's not totally accurate, I mean....it is Hotmail, and will therefore NEVER be free of problems, which is why I use it only for a junkmail account.

Thumbs up Blank Page when accessing Hotmail

I had the same problem and this worked for me!

In Internet Explorer click Tools then Internet Options
Click the Advanced Tab and scroll to the area labelled HTTP 1.1 settings
Untick Use HTTP 1.1
Tick Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections
Click OK
Close and browser windows you have open and try again.

hotmail will not load

I have the same problem. It just suddenly started. I can only enter the username and password. After that, just a blank screen.

I have this problem on windows 2000 pro and server. I have reformated the pro box and the same thing. I can load windows xp and it works fine.

any ideas.

Please send replys to articwolf10@hotmail.com as I can still check the email through outlook even on the same computer that doesn't work with hotmail.com

thanks

Guys, the MTU is a setting that has to do with the size of the information that is passed from modem to modem, so if you had a problem with MTU size you would have a problem with anything to do from one side of a modem to the other... ie connecting to any internet site, connecting to MSN etc etc... so that is not going affect just one site in particular... other than that I have no clue how to fix the problem that IE is having with hotmail at the moment

Been having same problem for month and half now. Seems to be when hotmail redirects to their secure server after login. This also happens with my gmail account after login. Not an IT guy but have read hundreds of threads on this topic and see a pattern with users also using Spybot (whether enabled or not) Messed with registry somehow to affect I.E. 6 security. Have tried all suggested fixes.
Signing in to MSN .NET passport and accessing hotmail that way sometimes works but Mozilla Firefox has been my real savior.

hotmail not logging in

I was able to fix the issue with Internet explorer not allowing me to see my mail.

The problem seamed to be one of the many updates that was required. From just guessing, I think it had something to do with .net framework.

Just make sure you keep your computer upto date with the windows update page.

re BPAMB5

My problem was resolved by doing all the microsoft crital updates and the windows updates. Make sure that you update your dot net framework. I haven't been able to prove it yet. but I think that was the key contributer to the problem. The reason being, my laptop is running xp, my desktop (problem computer), is running windows 2000. I didn't have the problem on xp but did on 2000, Xp is built with the dot net framework, 2000 isn't and must install it.

any ways, I hope that works.

thanks

VB Script install

thanks AMJones im running WinXp Pro the VB Script install was my answer too. There is an updated one 5.6 released on 9th of september 2004 - seems that mine was corrupted during an upgrade (i use that term loosely) to Service Pack 2. so a year and 2 months later you solved in 10 minutes what ive been tearing my hair out for two days over.
thanks a lot!!
