I had the hotmail problem aswell the simplest way to sort this out if you have the latest windows installed that has the "system restor" function. Just restor your pc to an earlyier date when hotmail was working. My computer/comtrol panel/ performace and maintinance then system restor should be at the top left hand corner (not in the mian box) left coloum.

It worked for me, good luck

What worked for me.

I got the same error. I suspect there are multiple causes, based on a single root cause that Microsoft doesn't do much back testing and the Rich Text format I suspect is not compatible with versions of Windows and IE.

I was on 98 (pre SE) without AVG with RichText turned on via the hotmail online options and had the same problem.

I upgraded to 2000 and still had the same problem.

I removed temp files and deleted cookies and had the same problem

I clicked on setting (next to delete cookies and temp files) and then listed temporary files. Some files where still there. I selected all and then hit the delete key.

Now it works.

Thanks,
Daniel

Smile One solution for Hotmail error : 'g_state.bgColor' is null or not an object

Hello,
I have had exactly the same error and for a while I have been unable to send / reply messages from hotmail. I've tried to delete all cookies, temporary internet files and what have you but still nothing changed. Today by pure coincidence, I installed Macromedia Flash Player to read a .swf file and I found that I'm able to send / reply mails again from hotmail. So try installing Macromedia Flash Player to see if it fixes your pblm because it certainly fixed mine.

I've sorted my hotmail "error on page " problem!! If you have PC-Cillin then go into settings and make sure you have not enabled "web trap" it's a malicious Java filter and it's stopping some of the hotmail page from loading.... well it worked for me :-)

Urgant Hotmail Problem I want to Veiw My Mails!!!!!!!!

Hotmail Problem PLease Help
Hello im having a different kind of problem with hotmail when i sign in it says the follows:
Web Browser Software Limitations

Your Current Software Will Limit Your Ability to Use Hotmail

You are using a web browser that Hotmail does not support. If you continue to use your current browser software we cannot guarantee that Hotmail will work correctly for you.

We recommend that you upgrade your web browsing software and invite you to download Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.

I tried to install ie6setup but it didn't let me it would say something like; A newer version of Internet Explorer has been detected on your system. Setup cannot continue.
I tried to install a different kind of web browser it was Mozilla, and all seemed like it was working all good till i tried to send a email. It wonted let me send it and when i had Internet Explore it would let me send emails but nothing else it would let me do. Can anyone help me with my problem. Im not good at computers so i need your guys help. Thanks for your time and have a nice day bye.

Maybe a virus?

My wife's email has the same problem - My email does not however. I tried deleting the temp....files in Windows folder, I tried removing cookies and temp int. files in internet options, I tried turning off rich text and none of these work. Also for the guy who said he got Netscape 7.1...is that free? If it is great! If it's not free no thanks to that. I just checked though, and I see at one site it says download netscape 7.2 for free......at this site "http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/download.jsp" If Netscape does fix it, then why?????

For my wifes email though, after deleting all that stuff, it doesn't even login properly. It goes to a page which reads "the page can not be displayed" .

Anyway, I'm thinking if this problem is really fixed for some people by one method and not for others.....and then another method fixes it for other people, but not for others, then perhaps it's some kind of virus.

And another thing. My parents have the same problem with AOL email right now......it doesn't work on their home computer, it shows error on page.......but at another computer it works ok.

Well, I don't know if all my babbling is useful. I'm not that up on computers and the internet, but I'm trying to learn more and it's quite interesting.

It may be a problem with your Java Virtual Machine. Go to http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp
Updating Java software seems to have solved the problem.
